As a deep diver you can dive to depths above those considered safe by the diving community. This could be because of local authorities setting limits. There are also opportunities to explore some of nature's most beautiful underwater environments such as Elphinstone Reef in Belize, the Galapagos or Elphinstone Reef. Find out more about deep diving in these special locations.
Elphinstone Reef
For the best underwater experience, dive at Elphinstone Reef on a liveaboard. You can dive in this location backwards, so you'll have to be confident in your backward roll. When there are less people, you will have greater chances to see sharks and marine life. There are also more tropical fish. Additionally, you will have the chance to meet the resident Hawksbill turtle.
Blue Hole in Belize
The Great Blue Hole, a huge marine sinkhole off Belize's coast, is the Great Blue Hole. This amazing diving spot is located near Lighthouse Reef, an atoll. The Great Blue Hole is 124m deep and 318m across. It covers 70,650 sq. metres. Deep divers can experience some of the world's most beautiful underwater scenes in this area. This Belize diving spot is ideal for deep divers, as it has a cave-like feel and offers excellent visibility.

Galapagos
For a challenging and rewarding diving experience, try becoming a deep diver in Galapagos. Galapagos Islands are home to incredible marine life. Due to this, the water can be quite opaque. The best time to dive in the Galapagos Islands is during the cool season (June through November) when temperatures are cooler and currents are stronger. If you're not sure whether you're ready for the challenge, take a look at this helpful guide for scuba diving in the Galapagos.
Elphinstone
Dive the Elphinstone Reef for its pristine soft coral and vibrant marine life. The reef is 300 metres long and lies between 20 and 40 meters deep. It is covered by large gogonians, sponges and sea whips. Drop in to the finger-shaped plateau for redtooth triggerfish and giant trevally. You may even see a hammerhead shark, which is very rare and very elusive. This dive site offers crystal-clear water and a strong drift.
Belize Blue Hole
The Great Blue Hole is a place you should visit if you ever wanted to dive deep into the Caribbean Sea. Located about 62 miles from the mainland of Belize, the Blue Hole is a near-perfectly round hole. It is located in central Lighthouse Reef and measures 125m. Though snorkelers and scuba divers have been diving in the waters surface for decades, not many have attempted to explore the depths.
Elphinstone and his buddy group
Elphinstone, also called Elfinstone, can be used as a boat dive in Southern Egypt. This saltwater site can be found in Marsa Alam. At a maximum depth, it is 150 feet (46 m). Visibility ranges between 61-70 feet (19-21 meters).
