You can become a Cavern Diver

scuba tank sizes

If you are considering becoming a cavern diver, you will need to complete a scuba diving course. The course includes four scuba divers. The first is an outdoors practice dive. Here you will learn the basics of handling line, reel, avoiding silt, and managing air. Your instructor will help you plan your dive and maintain your control over your orientation and air flow. You will be able, upon completion, to dive in caves or other caves that follow safety rules.

Safety

Safety protocols for cave diving follow the Rule of Threes. The cave diver should have three types of light sources and at least two tanks. To ensure that they have enough gas for the dive, they must also split their gas into three parts. If the dive team is experienced, and has had experience diving in caves before, it is better to use a conservative gas management strategy. Cave divers should be careful when diving in caves.

Equipment

Cave diving requires the use of specific equipment. It is essential to have two types of safety gear. One should be used for guideline running, while the other should keep the line tension high while the diver is in a cave. Each diver should have a safety reel that has enough line to reach the cave's entry and the longest permanent line. Many manufacturers will bundle the spools with guideline at the edge when you purchase a new reel. This makes them more likely to jam. To prevent a jam, trim approximately 10 meters (30 ft.) of line before you use the reel. This will reduce the risk for entanglement.

Maximum penetration

TDI offers a cavern diver course that is designed for scuba divers who wish to dive in areas where direct vertical access is not possible. This includes overhangs and cavern diving. It is not mandatory to sign up for a cavern dive course. However, the course will provide the necessary skills to make the most of the environment. This course will teach you how to navigate the narrow spaces often hidden from your view.

Maximum depth

Cavern diving comes with its own limitations. You must never dive at night, and be aware of your limits. Cavern diving requires more advanced training that other types of diving. Cavern diving is a great option for those who are curious. You should be familiar with basic cave safety procedures, and you need to know your limits. Before diving in caverns, you will need to have had some experience. Once you have this experience, you can start your adventure into the world cavern dive!
