Online certification is possible for the SSI Mermaid. This allows you to complete the certification wherever and whenever you want. The certification consists of two parts: the practical and online portions. The online portion can be completed on a laptop or computer. You can also use your smartphone for the practical part. The SSI App can be downloaded for both iOS or Android devices.
JODYPRATT
JODY PRATT, a PADI Mermaid Instructor, is a certified SSI Instructor trainer. She has many Specialty Instructor Ratings and started diving as a youngster. She loves water and takes open water classes. JODY is also a Technical Rescue Instructor Trainee.
Michelle Forsbrey
Michelle Forsbrey loves the ocean and is a keen surfer. Because of her love for the ocean, and her desire to be able to swim again, Michelle Forsbrey bought a Mermaid tail to help with her rehabilitation. The mermaid-tail drew attention from both children and adults when she was seen in the local hotel swimming pool.
Try Mermaid Experience
You don't have to dream of becoming a Mermaid, but you might be curious how the experience works. SSI offers a Try Mermaid experience that lets you try swimming underwater with mermaid fins. This is a great course for beginners. This course will teach you how safe to swim underwater, how to use mermaid fins and even how to hold your breath underwater. After completing your Try Mermaid course, you'll receive $15 towards your full certification.
Rusty
Rusty was born in New Orleans, but grew up in a small town in the Atchafalaya Basin. It is the largest US swamp and covers 22 parishes. He has deep respect for the unique cajun culture because he has lived in the swamp. Rusty loves to dive, cycle, and spend time with his loved ones.
Niki
Niki Dawson is an entrepreneur, professional scuba instructor, and creative wedding planner. She loves to travel to different parts to dive. Micronesia and Australia are her favorite spots to dive. While she loves diving, Niki loves exploring every part of the world.
Evi
Evi is a mermaid instructor and performer who teaches mermaid tail swimming. Her first mermaid school was opened in March 2018 and has taught hundreds of guppies to swim using her tail. Evi, along with Naomi, has competed in World Mermaid Championship. Her goal is for children to enjoy the water and be safe around reefs.
