It is important to be familiar with your equipment in order to improve your technical diving skills. This will enable you to quickly locate it in the event of a problem. This is a great way to practice using backup equipment. While you shouldn't dive with your backup equipment, you should practice using it when necessary. You will have an extra set in case of emergency.
TDI
Technical divers need to be familiar with decompression systems, gas blends and nitrogen levels. Technical divers must know how to calculate the number decompression stop needed to make a super multilevel diving experience.
NAUI
The NAUI technical diving skills class requires 20 hours of classroom instruction and focuses on advanced diving skills. It also focuses on advanced lifesaving, rescue, and contingency procedures. For this course to be offered, students need to have advanced certification as a diver or an equivalent. The course also requires that students are at least 18 years old and meet certain pre-requisites.
GUE
The GUE technical diving skills certification includes skills to perform rescue and technical dive operations. These skills include the ability to properly manage an unconscious diver underwater, switch regulators and valves, and use GUE equipment in the water. Open water skills such as ascent and descent are also required for scuba divers. During the course, scuba divers are also required to swim at least 500 yards (450 meters) on one breath hold, demonstrate basic equipment proficiency, and recognize their diving limits.
IANTD
IANTD Technical Divers goes beyond recreational diving. It adds a whole new level to safety and confidence to your diving experience. The program teaches students to use rebreathers that have cutting-edge benefits like extended bottom time and better decompression.
DSAT
DSAT TecRec, a series of technical diving skills courses, was launched in the early 2000s. These courses have consistently produced highly qualified technical divers. It uses state-of-the art training materials and has a logical, integrated course flow. All the training levels cover everything from basic to advanced, and the modular approach lets students progress at their own pace and gain experience at each level.
PADI
You can sign up for a PADI technical diver skills course if diving is your passion. PADI Tec courses cover everything from planning your dives to using decompression software. You'll learn how to dive at depths up to 50m (165 feet) with minimal to no decompression time and learn how to use a desk top decompression software program. There are several different levels of this course, and the goal is to become a professional technical diver.
