Advanced technical diving certifications are available for those who wish to pursue them. TDI has Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures. PADI has Tec Trimix & Deep Diver courses. Advanced Nitrox diving techniques are taught in the TDI Advanced Nitrox Course for recreational Nitrox divers. This course covers equipment usage, gas switching and advanced emergency techniques such as lift bag deployment. Visit the TDI web site for more information.
TDI Intro To Tech Course
The TDI Intro to Tech Course is a standalone training class that can help you increase your recreational skills and deepen your technical knowledge. It can also be used to introduce you to TDI’s advanced courses like Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. Alternatively, it can serve as a refresher for those who have already taken technical courses. TDI technical instructors can evaluate your skills during the course.
The TDI Intro to Tech course is for divers who have never used twin cylinders or a wing. The course also covers advanced buoyancy control, gas management, and more. Students will also learn situational awareness and trim skills. The course can be taught at the beach or in cenotes with similar conditions as swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. This course is intended to enhance your open water diving skills, and to introduce you the technical equipment configurations. Advanced gas planning techniques will also be covered. Although it is strictly a non-decompression course you will be permitted to use enriched oxygen nitrox mix during the course.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures training prepares divers for accelerated decompression. During this course, students learn advanced gas planning and management techniques to ensure that their dives are as safe as possible. Students will also learn how manage their equipment and plan ahead for any eventualities. A TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Methods course includes four dives that can reach a maximum depth to 40 meters (130 ft).
This course can be taken as a standalone course or as part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses last four days and are performance-based. Six dives above 30 meters are required. The course is tailored to the students' experience and individual needs. This course prepares students in advanced technical diving.
PADI Tec Trimix course
The final step in the PADI Technical Diver open-circuit path is the PADI Tec Trimix90 course. This certification opens up the possibility to go deeper into the ocean and discover places no one else has. This course is not suitable for tec divers with extensive experience who want to expand their range and explore deeper underwater environments. Trimix certification requires a valid driver's license and a medical exam. For this certification you will need two 30cf Stage bottles and a Face Mask.
PADI Tec Trimix 65 requires that the diver have logged at minimum 350 dives. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. There are multiple teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course for technical diving certification. The requirements for this course are higher than the PADI Tec Diver course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course
PADI's Tec Deep Diver certification offers recreational divers more advanced training. This certification covers four diving trips, which include a practice in safety stops and descents. Additionally, you will learn how to use technical diving equipment such as a side-mounted cylinder or EANx. Additionally, you will learn how to plan deep dives and manage your gas supply. You can take lessons online or offline with the PADI Tec eLearning Program.
This program is two years long, unlike the PADI courses. First, you will need to obtain a Tec 50 dive certification from an approved organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical diving, decompression diving up to 50 metres and pure oxygen diving. The Tec Deep Instructor course is also offered by the PADI Course Directors. Upon completion, the PADI Instructor Course Director will issue a Tec Deep Diver Certification.
